Authentic Heart Workshop

What if you could live your life every day from the truth that is in your heart? What if your heart had a voice, what would it say? What does it mean to have an open heart? What if you didn’t control the heart, how could it be more free? Where do you hold the power of your heart in your body? What if you could tap into the wisdom of your heart in every moment?

Get ready to let go of everything you thought your heart was about, and open yourself up to what your heart is ready to become.

These seven meditations are created to be a space of discovery. I am never interested in telling you the answers, but what I am interested in is creating a space where you get to go on a journey and uncover a deeper truth about who you are. This might mean at times you don’t have any answers at all (and this can be more aligned with the truth than if you did have an answer that was created from a false place). It might mean you bump up against emotions. It might be uncomfortable. But, I promise you it will be freeing. By the end something in you will have shifted.

My intention is to help guide you to a place of deeper wisdom in yourself. And this workshop could be just the beginning for you. All of this is really a practice. You will walk away with experiences and tools to help you show up in life with the authenticity of your heart. And by the end of the workshop you will have a clearer picture about what the heart is capable of and what makes your heart special.

  "Vase de Fleurs" , Henri Fantin-Latour, 1876

"Vase de Fleurs", Henri Fantin-Latour, 1876

Each meditation is designed to guide you to a place where you will do some discovering. There will be some info to read before each meditation, and then a 20 min meditation to do in your own time. Each one builds on the last, so please do them in order. You can do them one time, or repeat them a few times. You can do these fast, one every day for 7 days, or spread it out with one every week for 7 weeks. It is totally up to you. But stick with it, because there is a pay off at the end where it all comes together, and completion has a pay off energy of it’s own. And I will state the obvious, that the more times you do them, the bigger change you will notice in your life.

I will be using minerals in every recording, and talking about them in the first meditation. If you want to work with them while you meditate they can be great tool! Holding two minerals while you do the breathwork is a great way to work with their energy and stay grounded in your body. Trust your intuition on which ones are right for you. Some of the ones I will be working with are for the heart specifically: rose quartz, kunzite, malachite, danburite, rhodochrosite and emerald. You don’t need minerals or crystals. Me working with them and talking about them will activate the energy in you. But if you have them - great! Use em’!

Take some time today to listen to the intro recording at the end of this post. If you have never done the breathwork before listen to the part on how to do the breathwork. It is easy to learn. In there you will also find information on how to set up your space so you will be all set to go.

I want to strongly encourage you to use the comment section - please check in, let us know how you are doing and ask questions. Sharing is caring. Sharing is powerful. It is what will help weave the energy of this community together and hold space for the group as a whole. We have people from all over the world doing this together. Share your wisdom with each other. And read each others insights and questions, it might answer some of your own and help you see that others are having similar experiences. You are not in this alone, so make yourself known.

If you are coming up against some stuff and need help or support navigating it you can book a Mini Session with me. 30 min for $50, on Skype (this is a lot of bang for your buck!). This can be a great way to go a little deeper with anything you feel needs more attention, especially with this workshop because it is about the heart - so lots of emotions could come up, and I wouldn’t want those to block you from getting in touch with the power of your heart. If you would like to set up a session, email me here.

I am so looking forward to hearing from you and hearing about what you discover about your amazing heart!

Tools

If you are interested in minerals and how they can be a tool for you continue… if you are not then you can skip this part and move on to the first breathwork meditation.

I will start off by saying what I say to everyone who comes to me for mineral information and advice - You know more about minerals than you think you do.

Everything in our world is made of energy, seen and unseen. And everything carries a certain vibration, when two of the same vibrations encounter each other, they resonate. This principal of resonance underlies how minerals have a healing effect on us, they raise our vibration back to its purest and truest level. They function like a tuning fork for our emotional, physical, mental and spiritual bodies. They aren’t giving us anything we don’t already have — rather, they are helping us as energetic beings to vibrate to our highest, most divine and whole selves.

Because minerals work on the simple principal of resonance you will be drawn to the mineral you need, there is a mineral out there right now that is calling to you. You will feel it resonate with you. So trust yourself.

If you would like to figure out what that mineral is and use it during this workshop to support the growth of your heart you can do the following meditation. It doesn’t have to be one that is typical for the energy for the heart. So don’t get stuck on that.

Don’t look ahead to where I talk about the minerals I am using for the workshop yet ;) Do the meditation first. The more your mind doesn’t know the more accurate your answer will be.

Listen

Take a minute to write down what came to you, or draw anything you saw. You might have seen a specific mineral that you can go out and find. Or a visual might have come to you that is a metaphor that you can unpack (like you would a dream), and you can find a mineral with these same attributes, or that evoke the same feeling in you.

You can do the meditations with this mineral, have it near you throughout the day, place it on your desk or altar, put it under your pillow to dream with (so long as they are not very energizing minerals like pyrite or moldavite) - just be around it.

It’s all vibration - that’s how these meditation work, the vibration of my voice records into my microphone, and then out of your speaker into your ears. The recordings hold the vibration of the minerals I use when I record them as well as MY OWN vibration. As you breathe oxygen during the breathwork it gets your energy moving and tunes you into the vibration of your body, creating an opening so you can drop deeper into the self. It’s all vibration.

Here are some of the minerals I am using for the workshop to support you and your heart.

RHODOCHROSITE

Sometimes known as the stone of “love and balance”, rhodochrosite is a master at helping you reclaim parts of your heart and of the self that have been lost or that you might have given up because of past traumas or wounding. It helps you to rediscover the wisdom of your heart and it’s wholeness. It’s tender, comforting, soothing and joyous. It helps you own what makes your heart special, while not denying where there still needs to be growth and healing, ultimately balancing the male and female energies within. It allows you to be in service and connection to something greater. It encompasses “the presence of heavenly energies filled with the golden sphere of light; it assists in creating new worlds for the user. Worlds filled with love and dreams.”

EMERALD

In ancient Rome emerald was used for fertility and was associated with the goddess of Venus, which tells us that it is a wonderful mineral for abundance and opening us to the depth and power of our hearts. Emerald helps you to connect to the greater wisdom of the heart. While it soothes the emotions it can also allow the heart to be more active and courageous. Helping you to see that abundance is not outside of you, but what you discover on the inner journey, it is on this path of the unknown that will lead you to fulfillment. This stone is heavily related to the myth of reclaiming the Holy Grail. It brings out the qualities of the heart that are pure, sensitive, loyal, intelligent and that have integrity. Keeps you centered on your lifes work while living and acting from the heart. Good for anyone who is ready to step into the next level wisdom of the heart, for courage, nourishing the whole heart (the active and receptive halves), focus, gentleness, fulfillment, integrity, love, abundance of the self. Funny enough it can assist in maintaining the rhythmic breathing to allow you to drop deeper into the meditative state.

ROSE QUARTZ

This is possibly the most important stone of our time. Don’t dismiss it because of its popularity or abundance, those two things are signs of how much it is needed on the planet, as there is so much healing it can do. We should all be working with this stone. It embodies the energy of an open-heart: at ease, in oneness, compassionate, and connected. It is not only a much needed stone for us because it helps us heal the wounds of the past, but also because it helps us move into the energy of the future and where we are evolving as a species and the harmonious relationship we need to have with each other and the planet. Perfect for healing wounds of the heart, nurturing self love, forgiveness, and the release of tension and stress.

KUNZITE

It helps reawaken the magic of the heart, the magic of love! It has a more divine, joyful and radiant quality about it, it has a lighter energy than Rose Quartz, moving energy more quickly in the body. It’s helpful for healing heartbreak, or heartache, its energy allows you to let go of the wounds, grief and sadness from these relationships more willingly. It’s sometimes called the Woman’s stone, and is good for anyone in need of cultivating mothering energy in their lives. Especially good for young or first time mothers. It promotes calm and caring energy that has its origins in the heart.

MALACHITE

This is one of the oldest known stones. Because of it's absorbing properties it is a wonderful stone for drawing out stuck energy. It's a great stone for clearing any kind of blocks in the body, but especially deep emotions that are stuck in the body, emotions that have been pushed down into our bellies and hips to deal with later. It assists in releasing these emotions while letting them pass through the heart, infusing them with compassion, forgiveness, and non-judgment.

DANBURITE

A stone of the Divine. This is a wonderful stone to help you connect to spirit and channel all of the joy, light and loveliness that is found in that realm. It is a stone of sweetness and grace. It is also a great stone for bringing a sense of inner peace to the heart and body, allowing the energy of the heart to radiate outwards to be seen. With this stone you will glow!

&

I also added in some pieced of RUTILATED QUARTZ that were my mum's. Not sure why (since they aren't a traditional stone for the heart), but they kept jumping out at me when I was gathering things for the grid. So I just trusted that and went with it! I also always make sure to used HEMATITE for grounding, very important in meditation work. And some BLACK TOURMALINE, also very important for any kind of clearing or spiritual work for protection.

flowers

I also love Alexis Smarts Flower Remedies. I can't recommend them enough - I am always directing clients to them as additional support for this work. I use them religiously in my own life and they have helped support me so much. She has a great range of remedies that all have to do with the HEART - you can find them here. I highly suggest finding the one that resonates with you as an extra tool while you go through this workshop. They take about 2 weeks to really feel the full effect, but the results are incredible. And they also really address emotional issues, some we won't get to specifically in this workshop like grief and heartbreak.

The Grounded Heart

IMG_9984.JPG

This meditation is designed to help you feel what it’s like when your heart is grounded. Why is grounding so important? This meditation practice can be very opening, but it is so important to stay connected to your body while you open. Being grounded in your body allows you to have a connection to the wisdom of the body. If you are ungrounded, floating above yourself, or outside your body, it might feel really good (that feeling of being high), and you might be accessing wisdom from spirit or higher plane information, but there is no way to integrate it into your life because you can not integrate it into your body. Staying connected to your body isn’t just important during meditation, it is important in every moment. It is how you will know what you are feeling, what impulses you have, where you feel you need a boundary, etc…

Bottom line - If you aren’t grounded in the body you can’t access your inner wisdom.

Start this workshop with an experience of what it is like to be in your heart and have your heart be grounded and supported by the earth. Each of the elements holds a specific healing energy. And in our bodies we hold the intelligence of each one: earth, fire, water and air. For this meditation we will use earth energy and see how being grounded can support the intentions of your heart. It sounds simple and yet it is one of the fundamental principals of our bodies and for healing.

Grounding will be a part of every meditation so it is good to have an understanding of what that means from the beginning.

Minerals - rose quartz, hematite, black tourmaline

The Open Heart

What does it mean to have a heart that is open?

Before we start to go deeper into the heart, it is important to melt away all the layers of protection we have built up around the heart. We build these walls and shields as a way to protect our hearts, either out of fear of being hurt, not wanting to be hurt again, or out of survival. But the simple truth is that the heart doesn’t need protecting. It is only the mind and the ego that think it needs protection. Leaving the true heart’s wisdom and voice silenced.

We all hear these incredible talks, quotes, people saying that we need to live in our hearts, and practice vulnerability. These ideas are so exciting and thought provoking, but don’t get us any closer to actually being able to embody what that really means.

Today as you open the heart you will begin to feel what it means to live with a heart that is truly open. Even if just for a few breaths or just the beginning of this process for you. Remember, this is a practice. It’s about having an experience that you can use as a measuring stick for when you are out the world. Moment to moment, asking yourself - How open is my heart right now? What will it take for me to open it further?

IMG_0040.JPG

To have an open heart means you are willing to feel whatever it is that the heart feels and trust the wisdom of the heart to move you through any experience and every feeling.

Next time you are overcome with emotion ask yourself - How would my heart guide me through this? All feelings have a beginning, a middle and an end. It’s your true heart that can guide you through to the other side. You just have to stay with it, stay open, and surrender to it’s wisdom.

The Receptive Heart

IMG_0011.JPG

When you think about your heart, chances are you think about the ways the heart expresses love, gives love, shows love - you just think about the one direction of the flow of the heart’s energy. But what about the receptive heart? The way the heart receives love, and is open to the ways others love you and support you.

What is the power of receptivity?

How do you honor your own receptive heart?

The Empowered Heart

IMG_0021.JPG

Where is the power of your heart in your body?

Sometimes when we are reacting to experiences those emotions go right to the ego (solar plexus) or the mind - and we think we are in our hearts because we are having emotions. If you stop and ask yourself “Am I in the mind or the ego?” you will know pretty easily what each of those feels like - analyzing, trying to get out of it by figuring it out, going to spirit, being “above it all”, being over emotionalized - these are all ways to pop us out of what we are truly feeling on a deeper level, and ultimately it leads us further from the true power of our hearts.

Which leaves me asking - Where do you feel the power of your heart in the body? How do you know when you are in your heart?

In this meditation you will explore the answers to those questions.

Minerals : enhydro quartz, malachite, rhodochrosite, black tourmaline, emerald

Listen

This might be a more difficult meditation because it might not have resulted in a clear answer. One thing I know is that breathwork can bring more clarity because it creates space for things to be revealed. I also know that I don't have all the answers, and I don't expect you to either. But, I do know that I am comfortable holding space in the unknown, and guiding you there. So even if for this meditation (or others), you have come up feeling like you "don't know" that is an ok thing in my book. I am actually happier having you in the "I don't know", sometimes the "I don't know" is more in the TRUTH of who you are. It's a good place to be because it means you are uncovering something NEW - and it means you are growing.

See how long you can stay with the "I don't know". This is also empowering, if you can learn to stay in the unknown. Catch yourself every time you try to do something to get yourself out. And just go back to the "I don't know" and be willing to be lead by your heart to discover.
