Directing Energy

Points

Crystal points are a way to direct energy in your healing practice or your home. If you lay out a grid, create an altar, or use them during healing or meditation work, pay attention to the direction the points are facing. Think about a crystal point as an arrow. Whatever way the tip is pointing is the direction the energy will move. If you are working with multiple crystal points, you can move energy in one direction, in a spiral, or you can concentrate their energy by having them in a circle with all points facing a middle point (or mineral in the middle). There are lots of ways to set up grids, but it’s important to be especially aware when you are using them on the body or during meditation. Think about the energy of your body. A simple thing to ask is, “Do I need more grounding?”, if the answer is yes, then they should point down. Or ask, “Do I need to lift some energy in the body, and open up to spirit, or a higher plane?” If yes, then they could point up. You could also use them to pull down the energy from spirit with something like an amethyst, because this is one of the many minerals that connects us to spirit. When using amethyst in this way, you would point it down to direct the energy of spirit into the body. You could also add in a piece of hematite to help ground it into the body on a deeper level. The same is true of you are laying crystal points on or around the body. No matter how you are moving the energy they should all be facing the same way - or create a pathway to direct the energy, like train tracks for the energy to move on.

I always work with crystals with natural points, not cut or polished points. I will talk about this more next month.

Pyrite cubes - pyrite grows like this in a cube shape. But you can find other minerals that are cut into shapes.

There are a few man made shapes that I like to work with:

Spheres - A sphere is a great way to move the energy of a mineral in all directions. Spheres help the energy in the room to be a bit more smooth and gentle. It can keep the energy of a room moving and is a great tool to use during groups. Clusters are another way to move energy in a similar way, as the crystal points are facing in all directions.

Cube - Cubed or square shaped minerals are useful for creating boundaries or for protection. They are also helpful to use for work that has a beginning and an end. This is the innate power of a cube — it has boundaries built into its structure, creating a natural container for energy.

Pyramid - The pyramid is the most stable of shapes, so minerals that have been shaped into a pyramid are good for grounding, and creating a stable energy in a space. Minerals that have natural grounding powers like shungite and hematite are well suited for a pyramid formation, because the pyramid reinforces the healing properties.
