mineral for creativity ONE

Minerals for Creativity / Part I

It takes two energies to birth something new. These two energies are male and female / spirit and soul. This is true in procreation, within us energetically (as we are made of both male and female energy no matter our gender and we need both to be whole), but I think it is also true when it comes to creativity.

We tend to think that creativity only comes from the second chakra, which is the feminine energy (the soul), it is the void where there is no thing, and therefore possibility for any thing. So, it is an incredibly fertile energy to create from during our artistic practice (it’s also the place where life is conceived, so this makes sense). But we also can create using the masculine energy (spirit), by using our brilliant minds.

I tend to think this kind of creativity is about receiving ideas. I do think there are creative ideas that are in the air, ideas that are looking for bodies to channel them. This is why when you have an idea you have to act on it. If you sit on it too long it will find someone else. We all have been in the position of seeing something in the world and saying, “Oh man, that was MY idea!” Nope. It WAS your idea. And it moved on to someone else because you weren’t doing anything with it.

There is also something called “multiple discovery”, or “simultaneous invention”. This is when two or more people on different sides of the planet, who have no contact with each other, independently make the same scientific discovery. I think this is also true in art. Sometimes you can be working on something and then find out that someone has been creating something that looks or sounds very very similar, maybe even the same to what you have made. These are the ideas that are more in the masculine realm. When we feel like an idea comes from above and we channel it into creation - THAT is creativity from the masculine. The masculine energy also helps us use our brilliant minds to make connections, think new thoughts and invent new things that have never existed before, and helps us to stay clear and focused when we are making. It allows us to connect to the world through our creative practice, it can connect us to life and to others. It helps us when we need to bring people together to create something bigger than us, and it also helps us get our message out into the world.

Here are some minerals that help with cultivating more of the masculine energy for your creative practice.

FLUORITE

This is a wonderful stone for mental enhancement, clarity, focus and decision making. With its layers of purple and green it can help you clearly see what needs to be done. It’s a great stone for navigating through a situation, and calmly finding the outcome that will resonate deeply with what your heart desires. If you have lots of options in front of you, are confused and can’t seem to make a clear decision this stone can help. It is also great for taking scattered or disorganized energies and helping them to find natural structure and order. It’s like having a personal assistant.

This would be helpful if you are working on a creative project that involves lots of steps, or requires a lot of focus. I think it’s particularly helpful for writers, as writing is so linear, it can help you take all of your ideas and organize them so your writing can flow freely. It allows you to hold all the information in the big picture while also aiding you in making sure you cross every T and dot every I.

AZURITE

Legends claim azurite to be one of the most powerful healing stones in Atlantis where its psychic powers were so potent the secrets to its uses were known only to priests. It became so shrouded in mystery many of its secrets are now thought to be lost. In ancient Egypt, azurite was valued by high priests and priestesses to raise their awareness to a god-conscious state, using the pigment to paint the protective eye of Horus, the young sky god, on their foreheads. It clears away tension and confusion, and opens the mind to new perspectives. This stone stimulates the intellect, awakening the development of psychic and intuitive abilities, and brings inner vision into alignment with spiritual guidance.

Open your mind to new perspectives, illuminate the wisdom of the Gods that is within you. Stimulate your intellect, awaken and develop psychic abilities. Bring inner vision into alignment with spiritual guidance. Helpful if you are working on a creative project that requires your intuition to be in the mix.

LAPIS

If you have an attraction to this stone than you most likely had a past life where at one point you were royalty. This stone can help you tap into the wisdom and memories from that past life, as well as others. Lapis has a long tradition of being used to decorate and adorn the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt, and the Kings and Queens of Greece, Rome, and the royalty of the Middle Ages. It is known as the stone of inner wisdom, as it awakens the inner king and queen in each of us. It holds a sacred power, royal virtues, and an ability to access the truth on such a deep level that guides you on your path for deeper self knowledge. It brings a kind of clarity that activates your intuition, allowing you to tap into the wisdom of the higher mind, bringing you the awareness to discern, see, and speak the truth in all situations.

This is a great one to use if you feel like you are channeling some energy from another life. It will help it come through in this one, allowing your creative practice to be healing.

PYRITE

This stone carries with it lots of masculine energy. I call it the Super Woman stone, as it holds the male energy of Mother Earth. This stone is all about increasing vitality, confidence, and willpower. It’s a great stone to help give you direction and deepen your commitment to something so you can see it through to completion. It is good for grounding, rebalancing and energy. It’s also great for manifestation and creating abundance in your life as well as promoting creativity.

This stone will help you power through some of the road blocks that can come up around creativity, like: resistance, trouble getting started, lack of motivation, fatigue from working on something too long. It can also help when you need to take your project into the world: having a show, pitching a screenplay or book, having studio visits. It will help you have confidence in yourself and your idea. We don’t want to just be creative for ourselves. Art has the ability to touch so many people, this stone can help you connect to them.

Cubed pyrite will help you bring a project to completion.
